Dermal filler treatments are about making people feel refreshed, about restoring a youthful look, or highlighting facial features. How can you bring about the changes the patient is looking for while minimizing treatment risks? What about filler quality?
Setting the bar as high as possible for dermal fillers
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) based dermal fillers are medical devices. Fillers from any brand follow strict requirements from regulatory bodies, for safety and efficacy.
Still, you can always do more. Here is what we do at BOHUS to ensure that the quality of our Decoria® dermal fillers is as high as possible.

We know HA
BOHUS has a long history. We have developed and manufactured HA based products for over 30 years and we are unique with expertise in three disciplines – ophthalmics, orthopedics and aesthetics.
All development and production take place in our facility in Strömstad, Sweden, and our products are exported to 60+ markets worldwide. We can confidently say that we know HA.
HA that is very close to natural HA found in the body
Fillers are injected into the skin or under the skin and the result should provide a natural looking effect. We believe the best way to do that is to have fillers that are as natural as possible.
Our gel technology, SHAPE™, enables us to manufacture fillers that are minimally modified.
You can liken the natural HA molecule to a ball of yarn, a cotton ball or seagrass. SHAPE keeps that entangled and long molecule intact. We only need to add very few crosslinks to stabilise it into a durable gel, resulting in HA that closely mimics HA naturally found in the body.
Crosslinks are made of a synthetic material called BDDE (1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether). A minimally modified gel thus contains minimal amounts of synthetic additives.
Decoria® – every single dermal filler is pure
Every single Decoria® filler is pure, with only 1% modification of the HA molecule. Few, if any, filler brands have a portfolio with this level of purity. Many fillers on the market have between 3% to 8% modification, and sometimes significantly more than that, meaning that much more BDDE has been added.1 There are different ways of manufacturing fillers and when using more heat, the HA strands are divided up into smaller pieces and therefore need more cross-links to form a gel.
When the filler gel is highly modified, the body may perceive it as more foreign. That may lead to a higher risk of immunological reactions.1 Highly crosslinked gels may also be more difficult to dissolve with the enzyme hyaluronidase.1
Everything you need – from soft to extra firm
Fillers are about creating pleasing aesthetic results. A collection of high-quality dermal fillers must serve the needs of the patient.
The Decoria® dermal fillers range from soft and voluminous to one of the firmest fillers available. Each filler has specific characteristics in terms of firmness and particle size for optimal treatment results for the intended indication.
